Shiva Grihapati Avatar
The story of Lord Shivas Grihapati Avatar. A Brahmin named Visvanara and his wife Shuchismati lived on the subject of the banks of Narmada river. Even after a long grow primeval of the married cartoon, they did not have a child. Both were utterly depressed approximately this. When Grihapati attained the age of nine, Narada came to visit the intimates. Narada said that Grihapati would have a panic of flame. He furthermore informed Visvanara that death of Grihapati was imminent, because of the evil effects of the planetary combinations. Visvanara and Suchishmati were altogether sad and started crying. Grihapati subsequently consoled his parents and proceeded to Kasi to make a getting concurrence of penance in order to avoid death. In Kasi, Grihapati found out an auspicious place and placed a Shivalinga there. Beside the Sivaling, he commenced his penance as soon as prayers. On knowing roughly the combat of Grihapati, Lord Indra arrived there and blessed him. He requested him to demand anything he wished as a boon. However, Grihapati refused to demand all. Indra became fuming upon this and tried to fierceness him once his Vajrayudha (weapon Vajra). Grihapati was utterly much afraid. He prayed to Lord Shiva for protection.

Immediately, Lord Siva appeared in the by now him. On seeing Bholenath, Indra was goaded to retreat from the scene. Mahadeva blessed Grihapati and said  Do not be frightened of this Vajra of Indra. No Vajra would be practiced to kill you.

Grihapati became intensely glad. The Sivalinga which he worshipped in Kashi, well along upon became swiftly-known as Agnisvaralinga or Agnishwar Linga. Shiva made Grihapati the lord of each and everyone the directions.
